James Hesnan Obituary

James Patrick Hesnan Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning of May 20, 2018.

Pat or Patrick, as most people called him, was born In Allentown, Pa.o parents Marie Boyle Hesnan of Allentown Pa and William Hesnan of County Meath Ireland. Growing up in Jersey City, NJ. in his early years he attended Seton Hall Prep. Pat was a Veteran of the US Navy and served on the USS Summner. He worked for ATT Bell Labs and ATT Micro Electronics in various engineering roles working on some of the earliest transistors and semiconductors, where he retired after 30 years of service.

It's tough to put into words the impact one has on the people who loved him but his impact was profound. He was reliable and loyal as represented by his 30 years of service with one company and that loyalty and dependability was an everyday part of Pats life. Whether it be helping a friend or neighbor or being supportive of his children.

He was a resident of Jim Thorpe in his later years after living most of his adult life in and around Allentown. In Jim Thorpe he was member of the Germantown Grove Association where he enjoyed organizing and participating in the events bringing children with disabilities for day fishing trips at the Grove.

Pat was as self educated as a man could be as he was a voracious reader and would be known to pick up a book on just about anything and consume its contents. A rainy day was another opportunity to enjoy a few books and this passion helped comfort him in his time after suffering from a severe stroke in November of 2014.
Pat would never be or want to be the center of attention but whenever you talked with him he was always quick to laugh and loved to tell you a joke or anecdote. He seemed to have them lined up perfectly with whatever you were talking about. He would gladly show this skill off when talking with a nurse or when meeting his grandson's girlfriend for the first time. When people came to visit him he'd tell them to get out of here and go live your life. He'll be looking down on all of us hoping we do just that today and everyday. He was loved, he will be missed. He is survived by his siblings, George Hesnan of Port St. Lucie Fl and Peggy Hesnan Stroemengher of Brick Township Nj. and recently pre deceased younger brother William Hesnan of Allentown his children James P. Hesnan Jr. of North Myrtle Beach SC. Colleen Hesnan of Colorado Springs, Co. and his youngest Sheila Antrim of Trexlertown who lovingly cared for him in his final years. Grandchildren Patrick Quinn Hesnan and his wife Renae Burke Hesnan of Haverford Pa and Courtney Marie Hesnan of Holland Pa.
