Michael Gontar Obituary

Michael "Trapper" Gontar Jr. of Jim Thorpe passed away Wednesday March 21, 2018 in Hometown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the companion of Kathy Leinhard for 29 years.

Born May 30, 1941 in East Allen Township,PA he was a son to the late Micheal Sr. and Verna (Lukasevich) Gontar.

He served in the US Marine Corps.

He was a self employed carpenter for many years working on many homes and business in the area.

He was a member of many different outdoor clubs, VFW and American Legion Posts.

Trapper was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and trapping. His knowledge of the outdoors was great and he was always willing to share a story or two.

He is survived by his daughters Jenny and Denise. Brothers Peter of Dublin, PA and James of Northampton, PA. A sister Nancy Muster of Sparr, FL.

A graveside service will be held in Towamensing Cemtery, Palmerton Saturday March 24, 2018 at 1pm. There are no calling hours.
