Adolf Michael (Bud) Salzer Jr., 90, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 15, 2023 after an illness. He leaves behind his devoted loving wife of 65 years Dorothea (Dot) Salzer, his daughter Deborah and her sons Ryan and Sean, his son Michael and his wife DeAnne and their children Gianina and Calilynn.
Bud and Dot were born in Newark, NJ, in 1932, went to Columbia high school together while growing up in Maplewood, NJ and later relocated to South Plainfield where they raised their children and ran their small business together. They retired at the age of 56 and moved to FL where they lived for over 30 years. In 2021 they relocated to PA to be closer to Deborah and her son(s). Bud was a US Air Force veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and a valuable member of the communities in which he worked and lived. Bud enjoyed the ocean, fishing, playing poker with “the guys,” spending time with his family and was considered by many to be a kind and generous soul. He was thankful to the staff at Above and Beyond at the Knights assisted living facility in Allentown who cared for him and continue to care for Dorothea. He will be dearly missed.
