Doris L Dimmick, 95, of Jim Thorpe left this world to be with our Lord on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 in her son’s home where she resided for almost 5 years.
Originally from Bethlehem Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Henry O. Serfass and Mary Josephine Eckley Serfass.
She was the wife of the late Richard Lee Dimmick Sr. to whom she was married for 63 years till his passing in 2013.
Doris and Richard met in high school. She worked at Bethlehem steel as a key puncher and Richard went into the service right out of high school serving in World War II. Upon Richard‘s return they continue dating and he too worked at Bethlehem Steel as an Industrial Engineer for 34 years.
Doris and Richard have three children Richard Lee Dimmick Jr. and his wife Julie in Bethany Beach, DE. Daughter, Cathie wife of Martin Ward of Bethlehem, PA. Son, Lee Allen Dimmick, and his wife, Charlene Fronheiser Dimmick with whom she resided.
Doris life was all about her husband and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved reading her Bible daily and doing her crossword puzzles. She also loved her dog Hazel. Doris was very active in church Bible study and she loved going to Saucon Valley Senior Center where she enjoyed her exercise class the Groovy Movers. She looked forward to all her family visits and constant phone calls with family while keeping up with the latest happenings. She was a member of a Manuel Evangelical Congregation Church of Bethlehem. Doris has eight grandchildren, Kelsi Ward Malowa and her husband, Mark Malowa in Maryland. Abby Ward House, and her husband, Zach House now serving in a military station in Louisiana. James Ward and his wife Jane, residing in North Rim Arizona. Sara Dimmick Burya and her husband, David Burya, residing in New York City, Mark Dimmick of Maryland. Paul Buck and his wife Madeline of Erie, PA. Brittney Bretz Gross and her husband, Justin Gross of Northampton, PA and Kyle Bretz of Jim Thorpe. She also has eight great grandchildren, Marcel Bretz, Cayden Burya, Martin House, Owen House, Elliot Molowa, Addison Molowa, Vanessa Gross and Bryson, Gross.
Stianche Funeral Home and Cremation Services Jim Thorpe has been entrusted with Doris’s funeral arrangements.
Private graveside services will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Bethlehem at a later date.
