Rose Wernett Obituary

Rose Marie Wernett, known affectionately as Rose, passed away peacefully in Bethlehem, PA, on the date that marked her 87th year of a life well-lived. Born on November 14, 1936, in East Mauch Chunk, PA, Rose was a beacon of love and laughter, touching the lives of all who knew her.

Rose's journey began in the small town where she was born, and it was there that she cultivated a life rich in experience and service. She dedicated many years to working in various capacities, including at the former pocketbook factory in Jim Thorpe, as a nurse's aide in Palmerton, and cleaning homes in the area. Rose also served as a nanny and contributed her time and energy to the family-owned excavation company and Sand Spring Trout Hatchery. Her work ethic and versatility were as strong as her character.
Family was the cornerstone of Rose's world. She is survived by her loving sons, Michael Wernett and his wife Gail, and Kevin and his wife, Catherine Wernett of Jim Thorpe. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Michael Wernett Jr. and his wife Tiffani, Bradley Wernett, Tabatha Wernett, Stephanie and her husband, Jason Reese, Kevin Wernett Jr. and his wife Natalia, Cadi Gelsinger and her husband Kris, Ashley and her husband, David Goodhile, and Sydney Wernett. Rose was also a proud great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren: Amelia, Gabriel, Robert, Samantha, Skyler, Sailor, Wesley, Charlotte, and Nolan, and one great-grandson, Hudson. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Nolan Sr., her son Nolan Jr., and a daughter-in-law Leslie, brothers and sisters Joseph Rimsky, Anna Swedar, Edward Cadugan Jr., Mae Tout, and Pauline Robin

Rose’s love for the outdoors and her involvement in local clubs reflected her passion for life and community. Friends and family will remember her as loving, kind, and funny—a woman whose humor and warmth brought joy to every gathering.

Rose Marie Wernett's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories and laughter shared among those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her spirit, a blend of kindness and mirth, will forever be a guiding light for her family and friends.

Mass of Christian burial Will be celebrated Friday, March 1 at 11 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Jim Thorpe. Calling our 10 AM until the time of services in church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
