William "Bumper" Clewell Jr.

William “Bumper” Clewell Jr. of Jim Thorpe passed away Monday, December 11, 2023 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Corinne (Mistretta) Clewell. The would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on December 17. 

Born in Lehighton, August 15, 1954 he was a son to William Clewell Sr. and Carolyn “Doot” (Weaver) Bunso. 

He was a conductor for many years for the Norfolk Southern railroad before retiring. Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter Aimee Clewell and her partner Dave Godwin of New Mexico, a son, Mark Clewell and his wife, Amy of North Carolina. Daughters; Ashley Connor, and her husband, Alex of Lehighton, Dina Lovewell and her fiancé Ciara Lane of Northampton. A brother, Michael Clewell and his wife, Bonnie of Jim Thorpe and a sister, Samantha Croly and her husband, Allen of New Jersey. 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 1 PM at the Mauch Chunk Rod Gun Club, Jim Thorpe.
